Design Wall Monday

I have been playing with a new quilt project - nothing fancy, just using up old plaid scraps with 9 patch and hourglass blocks. You can see that I need to make a few more 9 patch blocks to fill in the bottom 2 rows. I would like to get these together for a donation quilt, but can't decide which layout to use...I like them both.
Do you have a preference?
I am going to let my blog readers decide because I am tired of going back and forth between these 2 layouts.
Please leave me a comment and vote for your favorite...
Layout A on the left OR Layout B on the right.

I like them both but I'm picking B...a little different than the same ole framed 9 patch.

You probably should go in and check your iron. ;-) Funny girl!

I am going with A. I like that traditional look. This is such a fun quilt...Thanks for sharing and good luck finishing it up!

This is a hard one as I like them both. I think I like the top quilt just a bit more.

I like Layout A the best.

I prefer Layout A. But then I prefer a more square looking quilt and Layout B makes it look long and narrow. That's just me though. :) Either one is great looking.

They are both terrific but I definitely prefer the one on the upper left.

Either way is good. B is very different than the normal. If you want to be DIFFERENT...

I like A better.

I like B because it is so unusual. To me it is at least. Both are nice.

I favor the 1st one. Isn't it interesting how different people are drawn to different designs? Either one will be lovely. I love plaids -- such a nice look.

I like layout A. My eye is drawn to it more.

A is very symmetrical but B is rarer. I'd pick B with something in the border to balance the sort of elongated impression one gets from the layout of the hour glass blocks. Perhaps the outer border could have the same kind of blocks laid out in a perpendicular direction?

I, too, think B is the way to go because it's a bit different. They're both wonderful, though!

I've made a couple of quilts with layout A and they turned out very nicely ( as is yours ) but I must say I like B a lot and would go with that - much more unusual xx

A - definitely A *s*

B looks long - kind of stretched due to the tall block design - so I like A better. But I wonder what B would look like on its side? Lay the blocks across the short direction of the quilt, instead of down the long way.

Looks like A is winning but I vote for B as it is unique and attractive at the same time.

A is my favorite! That is so cool that you were able to get two different designs from the same pieces!

I like the first one best, because its more traditional. But the second one is great too.

I like them both, but prefer B just because it's a wee bit different.

Hmm, I like both too, but B looks pretty cool. :-)

i like the second option the best b/c it's something you don't see that often... unique :) sorta an optical illusion making them look stretched sorta ;)

Check out my blog too - I am asking readers to pick my fabric color usage for my upcoming project... please vote ;)

Love from Texas! ~bonnie

"B" is neat because it's different and I personally think it would look good perhaps with a different color scheme. So having said that, I like "A" the best with the colors you are working with.

I like B best as it is unusual and gives the blocks a different look. Are you doing a trunk show?

My eye keeps going back to A and that is my choice ..... love those 9 patches!

That is hard! I vote for B becasue I never would have thought of setting them like that and it is unique!
